District 7 Harrison County liaison & K-12 Art Educator, David Henke, was featured in a recent article in the Indiana section of The Courier Journal dated Saturday, October 1, 2011. David's students were studying the life cycle of the monarch butterfly and were directed to create their own depiction of one of the stages of life of the butterfly in the form of a clay tile. It's a great article that features David and his students working across the curriculum incorporating science into the art classroom. Stotts, a Senior at New Albany High School, was recognized at the St. James Art Fair for winning a $2000 art scholarship in photography.
